Advanced Energy's Leaders and Projects Take Center Stage

On May 19-20, the IAEC Annual Conference brought together some of the most important voices in advanced energy and the conversations didn't disappoint.

State energy officials from Idaho and Wyoming kicked things off with a frank look at how their offices are coordinating to build out the Intermountain West nuclear corridor. Then local leaders took the mic. Mayors, county commissioners, and city administrators from Kemmerer, WY, Brigham City, UT, and Butte County, ID, spoke to what nuclear development actually looks like from Main Street, the questions their communities are asking, and why they're leaning in.

The afternoon shifted to industry. Oklo and Aalo Atomics laid out where advanced reactor and fuel technology stands today. Amentum made the case for Idaho's role as a nuclear fuel campus. And a closing panel featuring Curio, DISA Technologies, BWX Technologies, and Hi-Tech Solutions tackled the full fuel cycle, from raw materials to deployment. INL's John Revier closed out the day with an appreciation for collaboration and looking ahead. It was a room full of people who aren't just talking about the energy transition. They're building it.
